Mass Weddings Held During 22nd Anniversary
During the month of August, 2006, South Rwenzori Diocese funded mass weddings
for Christian couples who had not received the benefit of a church wedding. 737 couples
were finally registered as having participated in the mass weddings. Click on

Kinyamaseke
While visiting Kasese and South Rwenzori Diocese, Bishop Paul Butler
of Southampton, UK, assisted Bishop Nzerebende in officiating
at a mass wedding which was held in Kinyamaseke.
The following photos were taken in Kisinga parish, where 150 couples
were married in a mass wedding. The oldest groom in the ceremony
was 80 years of age. The two bishops and 11 priests officiated
at the ceremony.
St. Paul's Cathedral Mass Wedding
The photos below are from the mass wedding held 23 August 2006 at
St. Paul's Cathedral in Kasese.
38 couples were married, the oldest were in their 80's and had been
living together for some sixty years. One bride appeared at the church almost two
hours late, but well in time to join in the ceremony.
